"Poppy" Cat!

On March 21st and 22nd I'll be at the Cabin Branch-Stonehouse Quilters Quilt Show. The show is held at the Prince William County Fairgrounds in Manassas. You'll find more information here. It's a great show with over 200 quilts and lots of vendors. You can even purchase quilts made by members in the emporium and silent auction and watch demonstrations. This is one of my favorite quilt shows. Of course, I'm a member of the Cabin Branch Quilters, so I might be a bit biased, so come on out and see for yourself!

At left is a portion of one of my newest patterns, "Poppy" Cat. It's a nine-patch wallhanging with repeating blocks of poppies. I love the way this quilt turned out -- it's very vintage looking, even though I wasn't planning on that! I used some fun fabrics -- part of the pink gingham pants my daughter wore when she was four; a piece of my own baby pajamas (also worn by two or three of my younger brothers); two shirts I bought from Goodwill; and some lovely, lovely lime green corduroy -- one of my new favorite fabrics (sometimes I just carry swatches of it around from room to room, thinking of new ways to use it -- yes I know how weird that sounds!). Of course, this quilt also has lots and lots of buttons and rickrack.

Come to the show to to see the whole quilt and my other new patterns. I'll also be selling some old favorite patterns, as well as buttons and some fabric packets. Come early to get the fabric packets with the few pieces of lovely lime green corduroy that I could bear to part with! I hope you'll find something you like!
